1 Day in Naples: Lungomare
A weekend in Naples can only start with a rich Neapolitan breakfast: far from being salty, but instead Cornetto and Caffè o Cappuccino. The Naples promenade offers numerous cafès where you can indulge in local dishes and with the sound of the sea that cradles and the inspiring Gulf view. Starting from Mergellina you can also walk through the Villa Comunale, in order to enjoy the green that the park offers.
1 Day in Naples: Castel dell’Ovo
Walking along the promenade you reach the Castel dell’Ovo, that is located on islet of Megaride. You will admire breath-taking landscape of Naples. The entry is free and is opened from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm, except Sundays and public holidays when the entry is limited to the morning from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. There are several halls and rooms, of different kinds, in the castle, that host exhibitions and business meetings.
1 Day in Naples: Piazza del Plebiscito
At the end of Via Partenope you can cross the borgo di Santa Lucia and, going up Via Cesario Console, arrive at Piazza del Plebiscito. Here there are the most important monuments of Naples: the Basilica Reale Pontificia San Francesco di Paola and the Palazzo Reale. The entry of Basilica is free, while you have to buy a ticket if you want to visit the Palazzo Reale.
1 Day in Naples: Via Toledo
Via Toledo is a very crowded place and it offers many shops and restaurants that are characteristic of Naples. In this street you can taste the typical “sfogliatella”, to enjoy when it is hot so you can start your Neapolitan day on the right foot. Here you can go shopping or go for a walk and visit “Galleria Umberto I” and “the Palace of Zevallos” where many temporary exhibitions are hosted. At the end of this road you can admire the “Palazzo Doria d’Angri“.
1 Day in Naples: Spaccanapoli
Turning on Via Sant’Anna dei Lombardi and crossing Via Capitelli, you arrive at Piazza del Gesù and you enter Via Benedetto Croce: here begins the street known as Spaccanapoli, that continues for Piazza San Domenico Maggiore, Piazzetta Nilo and Via San Biagio dei Librai until arriving in the neighbourhood Forcella. Right next to Piazza del Gesù you can visit the complex of “Chiesa di Santa Chiara”.
1 Day in Naples: Via dei Tribunali
After ”Piazzetta Nilo”, passing a cross street of via San Biagio dei Librai you can go up in “Via dei presepi napoletani” and running along the church of San Gregorio Armeno. After you have admired the artisans at work, you arrive in Via dei Tribunali where we suggest you to eat the queen of the Neapolitans cuisine: pizza.
1 Day in Naples: Piazza Bellini
Bellini square is easily reachable from Via dei Tribunali in a few minutes. In Piazza Bellini why don’t you finish your day trip with a cocktail or a beer in one of the many bars where every day there are a lot of Neapolitans and tourists.
