Marco e Giuseppe Ferrigno
MARCO E GIUSEPPE FERRIGNO – The shop of Marco e Giuseppe Ferrigno is an artisan workshop dedicated to the workmanship, the restoration, the production of statues for the Neapolitan crib and the dressing of the saints.
Icon of the art of the Neapolitan crib, Ferrigno is synonymous with tradition: a tradition begun in 1836, a passion handed down from father to son in the processing of useful materials such as terracotta, wood and the famous thirst of S. Leucio, medieval village in province of Caserta.
Marco Ferrigno’s laboratory is located in Via San Gregorio Armeno, the route of the Neapolitan cribs, where the activities related to the creation of Neapolitan cribs and shepherds are concentrated. In the shops you can admire the artisans at work and all the statues inspired by the 18th century Neapolitan.
Neapolitan cribs art has remained unchanged for centuries, becoming part of the city’s most consolidated and followed Christmas traditions. Via San Gregorio Armeno, especially in the Christmas period, is crowded with tourists and Neapolitans who go to admire the works of art made by the Neapolitan craftsmen: the “Via dei presepi” is located in the heart of the historic center, a stone’s throw from Via Duomo and the most famous pizzerias in the city.
